To remain in good standing with the Media Buffs community, please do not commit any of the following violations listed below.

Please Note:

Every future winner’s account will be analyzed for prior activity that fall under any of the violations outlined below. If any violations were committed within the previous month, then that winner will be disqualified and the member next in place will be considered for the prize. Every subsequent member we consider will be subject to the same account analysis. This process continues until a member without violations is awarded the prize.

VIOLATIONS

⁃ *Personally threatening anyone for reasons such as, but not limited to, religion, race, nationality, gender, sex, sexual orientation, mental disability, and physical disability. Every member should feel safe to communicate their honest thoughts and feelings about the media topic being discussed.*

⁃ *Promoting hate speech, self-harm, organized crime, or terrorism. Please do your part to keep the Media Buffs community safe for all members.*

⁃ Spamming, which is to post or reply using the same word or phrase multiple times in a short time period, implying no meaningful thought. This behavior will be viewed as “gaming” our system for points, which is unfair to other members making the effort to engage in a thoughtful manner. Furthermore, this behavior degrades the overall quality of a conversation.

⁃ Self-promotion or promotion of any kind. Posts and replies containing this content will be seen as third-party advertisement, which is never allowed anywhere on the platform.

⁃ Impersonating other members or publicly known figures for any reason, especially with the intent to mislead. This guideline applies to your profile photo, account name and username.

⁃ Uploading a nude/semi nude photograph of a person or persons (adult or minor) to use as a profile photo. This action may be viewed as offensive by some community members, which can result in the violator’s account being reported and/or blocked.

We select three winners at the end of every month. The member with the most engagement points at the end of the month is the 1st place winner and will win the higher of the two category prizes. The member with the second most engagement points is the 2nd place winner and will win the lower of the two category prizes. The member with the third most engagement points is the 3rd place winner and will be awarded 1,000 key points!

Please Note: Only engagement points earned within the past month will be considered. This is to ensure that members have an equal opportunity to win each month.

The prize level will be determined by the total number of category members at the end of the month. If there are less than 80 category members, then the category prize will be 1,000 key points added to the winner’s KPS balance. Also, every category prize winner will receive an exclusive Media Buffs t-shirt!

Category Members and Prizes

We are always searching for the best movies and tv shows to start a conversation about. Now you can request your favorite new media be added as a conversation block, if not already added.

*Please Note: We only accept requests for media being produced within the current year. This includes movies and shows released this year or older shows that are still ongoing. If your request meets these requirements, then we will make the conversation block available (usually within one week). If it is not added after 7 days, please contact us.
